The sun is out. Use it.
Let the pump wait for solar surplus, with minimum and maximum run times so passing clouds do not keep cycling it.
Control Freak Energy · Your own complete kit
See what the pool costs at your rates. Set its hours once.
The rules keep running when the internet doesn’t.
Control Freak Energy, brought to you by Control Freak.
Concept Concept: a product in development. Design, contents, and features may change. Demo values are simulated.
Let the pump wait for solar surplus, with minimum and maximum run times so passing clouds do not keep cycling it.
See the pool’s share of today’s energy, estimated using your hourly rates.
A Wi-Fi or internet drop changes nothing about the rules running on the controller. Phone alerts need internet.
An electrician fits the energy meter to measure home power.
Set peak hours, solar preferences and a daily filtration deadline.
Pump and heater wait for off peak or solar. With Pro, priorities pause pool loads when total load is high.
Use available solar while still planning for your daily filter hours.
Give the pump priority over the heater when total load is high.
Energy history stays on the controller. Review your pool’s energy use over time.
What’s included
Rules and energy history on the controller, with Home Assistant built in.
An energy meter and the sensors this product uses. An electrician fits the meter.
The outputs this product uses to run the pump and heater. Your pool equipment and solar installation are separate.
Works with the Control Freak gear you already own: every Control Freak product is a complete kit on its own. If a Control Freak controller you already have has a free port or relay, Home Assistant can put it to work for this product too.
Home Assistant built in
Home Assistant is built in, with energy readings and pool control on your home network. No subscription. Rules run on the controller.
Choose alerts by push, text, email or alarm. Phone alerts need internet.
Through Home Assistant and its companion app, it works with Google Home, Siri, CarPlay and Alexa: ask Alexa or Siri how much solar you made today, tell Google Home to run the pool pump now, check it from CarPlay, and get voice alerts when something is out of balance.
This is not a utility or solar installer service.
It only pauses the pool loads it runs. It does not switch house circuits or replace electrical service protection.
Cost figures are estimates based on energy use and the rates you enter. They are not utility bill guarantees.
Try the modes, switch pool loads and simulate an alert. These are example readings.
