The heater stuck on all night.
Set a temperature limit. Above it, the heater outlet turns off, exhaust turns on and you get an alert. It cannot prove a relay inside your gear is really off.
Control Freak Grow
Temperature, humidity and lights on one controller, for a grow tent or a backyard greenhouse. Keep the gear you own.
Home Assistant built in. No subscription.
Control Freak Grow, brought to you by Control Freak
Sound familiar?
Set a temperature limit. Above it, the heater outlet turns off, exhaust turns on and you get an alert. It cannot prove a relay inside your gear is really off.
The rules keep running on the controller. A power outage messed up the timers? When power returns, it picks up where it left off.
Lights use the controller clock. Keep the light cycle with the rest of the grow, instead of another Wi-Fi plug and another app.
How it works
Plug lights, fans, a heater and humidity equipment into the Power Hub. Use gear that turns on when plugged in.
Choose Seedling, Growing, Lights off or Away. Set temperature and humidity targets, light times and your temperature limit.
Two probes compare readings. Rules run here, and alerts reach you by push, text, email or alarm.
What makes it different
Humidity has a target, with VPD alongside it. A high humidity alert tells you to check the grow. It does not detect or stop a water leak.
Minimum run times let the dehumidifier work without being flicked on and off. Check its capacity, bucket and drainage too.
Keep any brand of equipment that starts when plugged in. Eight switched outlets bring its on and off rules together.
What's included
Lights, fans, heater, humidifier, dehumidifier and heat mat are your own equipment. Check that each turns on when plugged in.
Home Assistant
Want it in Home Assistant without a vendor cloud? Home Assistant is built in, with grow readings and controls together on your network.
Temperature limits and schedules keep running even when Wi-Fi drops. No subscription. Phone alerts need internet; a local alarm needs connected alarm equipment.
Honest limits
It switches gear on and off. It does not set the speed of other brands’ fans. “Exhaust full” means its outlet is on; the fan runs at the speed you set on the fan.
Nothing runs in a power cut. After power returns, the controller resumes. Phone alerts during an outage need a small UPS on the controller and router, plus working internet.
It cannot prove a relay inside other gear is really off. It is not fire protection. It does not control odor.
Two probes give a disagreement alert. Check sensor placement, equipment and the grow when an alert arrives.
Try it here
Change stages, switch outlets and try the faults owners worry about. All readings are simulated.
