Lettuce, basil, tomatoes and peppers growing under warm lights in a dark home hydroponic cabinet

Home grow dosing

Stop chasing pH.
Keep your water cool.

pH up and down dosing, water temperature and alerts while you are away. Schedules run on the controller. Home Assistant built in. No subscription.

Between your daily checks

A grow should fit into your life.

Water warm again?

Ice bottles become a daily chore. Watch water temperature and switch your chiller when it rises. Warm water and root rot are worries worth watching, even between your checks.

pH drifting every day?

Stop chasing it twice a day. Dose up or down in small steps, with time to mix before the next reading.

Can’t leave for the weekend?

Something switched off with nobody noticing? See the reservoir and get alerts by push, text, email or alarm, and in Home Assistant.

How it works

Read. Dose a little. Let it mix.

For a self installed home grow with a recirculating reservoir: deep water culture, NFT or drip with return. Leafy greens, herbs and fruiting vegetables.

01

Watch the reservoir

pH, EC and water temperature sit alongside your level and leak readings.

02

Correct in small steps

pH up and pH down work within your target band. Pro adds nutrient A and B dosing.

03

Wait, then read again

A mixing wait separates doses. Daily limits cap the amount. A drifting or implausible reading locks dosing and raises an alarm.

What makes it different

Your grow keeps its own time.

Schedules and dosing run on the controller, so they keep going without internet. Home Assistant built in. No subscription.

More than a number on a screen.

Water on the floor, a dry reservoir or readings you can’t trust need a response. Leak and low level sensing pause the pumps and dosing. Probe checks pause dosing when the reading is suspect.

Remote notifications need a connection. Automation supplements physical checks. Keep checking your roots, tubing and reservoir.

The kit

Start with pH. Add nutrient dosing.

Starter

The daily essentials.

  • Controller and Power Hub
  • pH, EC and water temperature probe
  • pH up and pH down pumps
  • Leak sensor and reservoir low float
  • Chiller outlet controlled by water temperature

Home Assistant built in

How many apps do you open to check your grow?

Bring your reservoir and the rest of your smart home together. See readings, outlet states and alerts in Home Assistant on your home network.

The schedule stays with your grow.

Lights, feed cycles and dosing run on the controller. Your dashboard brings them into view. Every Control Freak product is a complete kit on its own, and Home Assistant can bring them together.

Options and honesty

Know what it does. Know what it needs.

Bring your own chiller.

Hydro switches your chiller by water temperature. It does not cool water by itself. Your grow system, chiller, plants and nutrients are not included.

Keep caring for your probes.

Probes need calibration, cleaning and eventual replacement. A lockout is a reason to check the probe, not permission to ignore it.

Monitoring needs a sensor.

Water pump stop detection needs an optional flow sensor. Air pump stop detection needs an optional pressure sensor. Both are shown as fitted in the demo.

Designed for home reservoirs, not commercial grow rooms. This is a product in development. The demo illustrates planned behavior and is not proof of tested hardware performance. The controller also needs power to run.

Interactive demo · Simulation

Take a look after lights out.

Change a cue, try a drifting pH reading or see what happens when the pump stops. Everything here is simulated.
